We believe that all animals should have a comfortable and peaceful good-bye with the family that loves them.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide families with a peaceful and compassionate farewell for their beloved companion in the comfort of their own home.

After many years in general veterinary practice, I witnessed firsthand how difficult euthanasia can be for both pets and their families. I was often asked if this service could be provided at home, where pets feel safest and families can share private, meaningful final moments together. In my area there was a need for at home euthanasia and I wanted to provide that service for the Quiet Corner. I created this business to offer a more personal experience—allowing pets to remain in a familiar environment, surrounded by the people who love them most, while families are given the time, privacy, and support they need to say goodbye. Through this work I hope to provide families and pets closure and peace.

Meet Dr. Hassey

Shantell Hassey graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and spent her clinical year at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Dr. Hassey is originally a Massachusetts native, but moved to Connecticut after her daughter was born to be closer to family in 2017. Dr. Hassey became certified in peaceful companion animal euthanasia in 2025.

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family. Dr. Hassey has one cat, Puffy.

Meet Abby

Hello everyone! My name is Abby. I have worked with Dr. Hassey in general practice as a veterinary technician for years and am honored to be chosen for helping care for your wonderful pets during this delicate time. I have a soft spot for geriatric and special needs animals and have a few of my own to care for as well. So know that you are not alone!

In my spare time I foster feral kittens and try to find them new homes. I live on a small family farm that includes dogs, cats, cows, chickens, goats, and rabbits.
